Medical Office Administrator Program (MOA)

 

The Medical Office Administrator program was reviewed and approved by the Registrar of the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

 

Program Description: 

Medical Office Administrators play a vital role in healthcare settings such as physicians’ offices, dental clinics, hospitals, and other medical facilities. They perform a wide range of administrative and clerical duties that support healthcare professionals and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of medical offices. The Medical Office Administrator Program prepares students for an entry-level career by developing the essential knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work effectively alongside healthcare professionals and interact professionally with patients in a medical office environment. The program also includes a work experience component, providing students with practical, hands-on training in a real healthcare setting.

Program length:

24 weeks = 20 weeks of coursework + 80-hour practicum 

Fees, tuition and Additional Information:  

  • Application Fee: $250, payable at the time of registration. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Tuition Fee: $8,000, payable in up to three installments. Payments may be made by credit card (via PayPal) or by e-transfer to payments@coastalcollegeofbc.com
  • Textbooks: Students are responsible for purchasing textbooks through a third-party vendor. E-textbooks are recommended as they are more affordable and delivered quickly by email. Approximate costs for both e-textbooks and hard copies are listed below. DO not purchase textbooks until directed by your instructor. (Hardcopy approximate cost= $700.00/E-textbook approximate cost= $630.00)
  • Practicum: CCBC will arrange one practicum placement for each student. Prior to starting the practicum, all tuition and fees must be fully paid. All practicum placements are unpaid. Students working in medical offices may have their practicum waived. Please contact the college for additional details.

Important Note: Students must progress with their assigned cohort and cannot accelerate course completion. Due to limited capacity, early registration is strongly recommended. A $250 registration fee is required to secure your spot.
