The Yoga Teacher Training – Foundations Program is a comprehensive, 240-hour program rooted in Hatha and Vinyasa traditions that prepares students to teach safe, effective, and inclusive beginner-level yoga classes. Over 12 weeks, students integrate theory and hands-on practice in asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy, ethics, and teaching methodology. The program provides a comprehensive learning experience that combines theoretical knowledge, practical application, and instructor-led learning, while supporting students in developing the skills and confidence needed to pursue opportunities in yoga instruction and related wellness settings.

Students must progress with their assigned cohort and cannot accelerate course completion. Due to limited capacity, early registration is strongly recommended.
This course develops a strong foundation in asana, pranayama, and meditation for aspiring yoga teachers. Students explore Hatha and Vinyasa practices, safe alignment, contraindications, pose categories, sequencing, breathwork, subtle body concepts, and meditation techniques from Vedic, Sikh, and Buddhist traditions. Students also develop the ability to safely demonstrate and teach beginner-level practices.
This course provides students with a practical understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics as they relate to yoga practice and teaching. Topics include the skeletal and muscular systems, major body systems, joint movement, muscle function, alignment, stabilization, stretching, modifications, props, and contraindications. Students learn to apply this knowledge to promote safe and effective yoga instruction.
This course explores the historical, philosophical, cultural, and ethical foundations of yoga and their relevance to contemporary practice and teaching. Students examine the evolution of yoga, Hatha and Vinyasa traditions, key yogic texts, the impact of colonialism, cultural sensitivity, and yogic ethics, including the yamas and niyamas. Students also develop an understanding of professional accountability, equity, and ethical teaching practices.
This course prepares students for the professional role of a yoga teacher by integrating knowledge and skills developed throughout the program. Students explore teaching methodology, sequencing, cueing, pacing, class management, inclusive and accessible teaching, professional ethics, scope of practice, business fundamentals, marketing, insurance, waivers, and professional development. The course also introduces Ayurveda and provides opportunities for students to practice teaching beginner-level yoga classes to industry standards.
